Terms of Use
Last updated: November 5, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Indira Pasupuleti, an individual developer in India who makes Huddle Log and offers it on the App Store (“we”, “us”). You accept them by selecting Agree and Continue in Huddle Log. If you do not agree, do not use Huddle Log.
These terms add to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”, https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/), which also applies to Huddle Log. If the two conflict, the Standard EULA governs, except where these terms give you more rights or protection, including a higher limit on our liability (section 10) and your rights where you live (section 11); there, these terms apply.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer protection, disability, or other laws of the place where you live that cannot be excluded by agreement. Where a term below would do that, it does not apply to you to that extent. Section 11 explains this for the places where Huddle Log is sold.
Key points
This summary helps you find the important parts. The full sections below are the agreement.
- Recording people is your responsibility. Tell everyone before you record, and get every consent the law requires (section 3).
- Recordings can stop or be lost. By default, a recording stops and is saved after 5 minutes with no sound; you can change this in Settings. Keep your own copy of anything important (sections 6 and 7).
- Transcripts and speaker labels are automatic and can be wrong, including who said what. Check against the recording before you rely on them (sections 6 and 7).
- Your meetings stay on your device. We never receive your recordings, transcripts, or notes, so we cannot recover them (section 13).
- Meetings appear in your device’s search by default, including full transcript text. You can turn this off in Settings (section 14).
- Two ways to unlock, both sold by Apple. Lifetime is a one-time purchase. Monthly is a subscription that renews automatically until you cancel it in your Apple Account, and its price may change after Apple notifies you; canceling keeps Huddle Log unlocked to the end of the month you paid for. When a subscription ends, Huddle Log returns to the free version and your meetings stay yours. Refunds of App Store payments are made by Apple. Your legal rights stay in place (sections 11 and 16).
1. Who may use Huddle Log
You may accept these terms only if you are 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher. If you are 13 to 17, or under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must accept these terms for you, and you may use Huddle Log only with their permission. Children under 13 may not use Huddle Log.
A parent or guardian who accepts these terms for a minor accepts them both for the minor and for themselves, and is responsible for the minor’s use of Huddle Log, including what the minor records and what they do with recordings and transcripts, and any purchase or subscription the minor makes in Huddle Log. Apple’s Ask to Buy, where it is set up for the minor, lets the parent or guardian approve a purchase or subscription first. Nothing in this section takes away any right a minor has under the law where they live.
We provide the Huddle Log app only. Buying or using it does not create any professional, advisory, fiduciary, agency, employment, or service-provider relationship between us and you or any organization.
2. Your license
Huddle Log is licensed, not sold. Subject to these terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use Huddle Log on Apple-branded Macs, iPhones, and iPads that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. You may use it for personal or work purposes.
The license does not allow you to, and you agree not to:
- copy, sell, rent, lend, sublicense, or redistribute Huddle Log, except as the Usage Rules allow;
- modify Huddle Log or make derivative works of it;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble Huddle Log, or try to obtain its source code;
- bypass, disable, or interfere with the purchase or subscription check, the free-meeting limit, or any other feature that controls access to the unlocked version; or
- remove or change any copyright, trademark, or license notice in Huddle Log, including the Acknowledgments.
What these limits do not take away. These limits do not apply to the extent the law where you live gives you a right to do something despite them, for example to make a backup copy, to obtain information needed to make another program work with Huddle Log, or to observe, study, or test how it works. They also do not apply to the open-source software and speech models listed in the Acknowledgments; you may use those under their own licenses (section 18).
We and our licensors keep all rights not expressly granted. The license ends only as section 21 says.
3. Recording other people is your responsibility
Huddle Log is built for recording conversations you take part in openly, with the people in them told that you are recording. It is not designed or offered for secret recording.
Huddle Log is a tool you control. It records only when you start it: audio from your microphone and, on the Mac, audio from other apps such as your meeting app. On the Mac it can remind you when a call starts, but it never starts recording by itself. We never receive your recordings or transcripts, and we do not know who is in your meetings or where they are.
Laws on recording and transcribing conversations differ by country, state, and workplace. Many places require everyone’s consent, including several US states such as California, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Washington. Outside the United States the rules also differ; for example, some Australian states restrict recording a private conversation even by someone taking part in it. Some of these laws apply to in-person conversations as well as calls, and almost everywhere it is unlawful to record a conversation you are not part of without permission. When people join from different places, the strictest of those laws may apply.
Voice analysis. To show who spoke when, Huddle Log measures the voices in the recordings it transcribes (on iPhone and iPad it skips this when the device is short of memory, and the transcript may then not separate speakers). This happens on your device, in memory. The measurements are used only to tell apart the voices in that one recording and are discarded when the transcript is done; Huddle Log keeps no voiceprint and sends nothing about anyone’s voice to us. The recording itself, which contains the voices of everyone recorded, stays in Huddle Log on your device until you delete it (see the Privacy Policy). Even so, some places, for example Illinois, Texas, and Washington, have biometric-privacy laws that may require written notice to, and a written release from, people whose voices are analyzed. If such a law applies to people you record, you are responsible for giving that notice and getting that release, or for not transcribing them with Huddle Log.
You alone decide when to record, whom to record, and what to do with recordings and transcripts. You agree that you will:
- (a) record only conversations you take part in, or that you are otherwise legally allowed to record, and never leave Huddle Log recording to capture a conversation you are not part of;
- (b) before you record, tell everyone who will be recorded and get every consent and release the law requires, including from people joining from other places;
- (c) use, share, keep, and delete recordings and transcripts lawfully, including under privacy, data-protection, employment, and confidentiality rules and any professional duties you have; and
- (d) never use Huddle Log to record anyone secretly where that is unlawful, or to spy on or monitor another person.
Recording children. If anyone you record is under 18, for example in a class, a tutoring or coaching session, a school meeting, a health or therapy appointment, or a family call, you are responsible for getting every consent the law or the setting requires, including from a parent or guardian, and for following the rules of any school, employer, or organization involved.
Huddle Log reminds you to tell people while you record (on the Mac, unless you turn the reminder off in Settings) and, on the Mac, offers a notice you can copy and share. These are conveniences, not legal advice. They do not get consent for you and do not make a recording lawful, and turning the reminder off does not change your responsibilities. If you are not sure what the law requires, ask a lawyer.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Huddle Log to:
- record or transcribe anyone where the law requires their consent and you do not have it;
- intercept communications you are not lawfully allowed to receive;
- harass, stalk, threaten, defame, or violate the privacy or other rights of anyone;
- build voice or biometric profiles of people, or try to identify people from their voices;
- break any law, including laws on employee monitoring; biometric privacy; health, financial, or student information; public records; or confidentiality and professional duties you owe others; or
- run anything where a failure, gap, or mistake in a recording or transcript could lead to death, injury, or serious harm.
We may end your license if you seriously or repeatedly break this section (section 21).
5. Using Huddle Log for work or in a regulated field
Huddle Log is a note-taking app. It is not a compliance, record-keeping, archiving, evidence, or monitoring system. We do not know who you are, where you work, or what you record. If you use Huddle Log for work, or in a field with special rules, you alone decide whether that use is allowed, and you are responsible for meeting those rules. In particular:
- Work. Follow the law and your employer’s or organization’s rules on recording, AI tools, devices, and confidential information. If you record employees, job applicants, customers, or others for an organization, you and that organization are responsible for any notice, consent, or other step the law requires, and you or that organization, not us, decide why recordings are made.
- Decisions about people. Huddle Log does not evaluate, score, or rank anyone, and it is not designed for decisions about hiring, firing, discipline, pay, promotion, performance, admission, credit, housing, insurance, health care, or legal status. If you use a transcript or speaker label in a decision about a person, check it against the recording first; the decision and its consequences are yours.
- Health information. Huddle Log is not a medical device or a health record and is not designed to keep medical information. Because we do not create, receive, keep, or send anything you record with Huddle Log, we are not your business associate under HIPAA and do not sign business associate agreements. If you handle health information, you decide whether and how to use Huddle Log under the health-privacy laws that apply to you.
- Legal matters. Recording or sharing a privileged or confidential conversation can affect privilege or confidentiality; that decision is yours.
- Financial services and other regulated records. Huddle Log does not meet record-keeping or supervision rules for regulated firms: it lets you edit and delete, keeps no audit trail, and gives no one else access. Do not use it to create or keep records those rules require unless your firm has approved that use and captures the records in its own system.
- Schools. Huddle Log is not designed or offered for children or as a school service. If you use it at a school or university, you are responsible for student-privacy laws and your institution’s rules.
- Government. If you use Huddle Log for a government body, you are responsible for public-records, records-retention, open-meetings, and security rules. Do not use Huddle Log where recording devices are not allowed.
- No certification. We do not state or promise that Huddle Log, or any use of it, meets any law, regulation, or standard that applies to your work.
- Using it for an organization. If you use Huddle Log for an employer or other organization, you confirm that it allows you to. To the extent you are authorized to accept these terms for it, they also bind it, and “you” includes it.
We do not process your recordings or transcripts for you, and we do not sign data-processing, business associate, or other compliance agreements for Huddle Log.
6. What to expect from Huddle Log
Read this before you rely on Huddle Log.
- Recordings stop by themselves in some cases. If Stop after silence is on (it is on by default, set to 5 minutes), a recording stops and is saved after that long with no sound, and anything said later is not recorded. Very quiet speech can count as no sound. You can change or turn off this setting. Huddle Log also will not start a recording when your device is very low on storage, and it stops and saves a recording when storage runs very low or after a recording has been paused for an hour. In the free version, recordings stop at 30 minutes (section 16). A recording started while Huddle Log is unlocked is not stopped at 30 minutes, even if a subscription ends while it is recording.
- Recordings can stop, fail, or be lost. Huddle Log saves audio while it records and tries to recover a recording after an unexpected stop (on the Mac it asks first), but a recording can still fail or be lost, in whole or in part: for example if the device sleeps, restarts, loses power, or ends the app; storage runs low; a permission is withdrawn; another app takes the microphone or audio; someone uses the recording controls on the Lock Screen or in the Dynamic Island of your iPhone or iPad; or there is a fault in Huddle Log, your device, or its software.
- Transcripts and speaker labels are made automatically and will sometimes be wrong. Huddle Log uses speech models that run on your device to turn speech into text and to tell voices apart. “Speaker labels” means the names and labels, such as “Person 1”, that show who spoke. Huddle Log can mishear words and names; leave words out; attribute words to the wrong person; merge two people into one; split one person into two; or miss someone who speaks briefly, especially with people talking over each other, distant or noisy audio, accents, or similar voices. Timestamps are approximate.
- English only. Huddle Log transcribes English only, and accuracy varies. Speech in other languages is not recognized and may appear as wrong English words or be left out.
- Huddle Log tells voices apart; it does not identify anyone. It does not recognize who a person is, and it does not detect emotions or personal traits. A name appears only if you type it.
- Operating systems change. New versions of macOS, iOS, or iPadOS can change or stop features Huddle Log relies on, and we may stop releasing updates (section 17).
- Accessibility. Huddle Log is designed to work with the accessibility features of your Mac, iPhone, and iPad, but we do not promise that every feature works with every assistive technology or setting. Transcripts are made after a recording ends. Huddle Log is not a live captioning or interpreting service and is not a substitute for an accommodation such as live captioning or a sign-language interpreter where accurate communication is needed.
These limits are part of the description of Huddle Log. They do not reduce your rights under section 11.
7. Your part
You decide whether and how to use what Huddle Log produces. You agree to:
- check a transcript against the recording before you rely on it, and check who said what before you quote, share, or act on anyone’s words;
- keep your own copy of anything important, and back up your recordings and transcripts. We never receive them and cannot recover them;
- check that a recording is running when it matters to you, and not use Huddle Log as the only record of a meeting you cannot afford to lose;
- install updates to Huddle Log and your device’s software; and
- follow the law on recording and sharing (section 3).
You are responsible for what you share and for decisions you make using Huddle Log’s output.
8. Intended use and recordings as evidence
Huddle Log is a note-taking aid. It is not designed or tested for, and you must not use it as:
- an official, certified, verbatim, or legal record, such as court reporting, evidence, or regulatory record-keeping;
- a medical, legal, financial, or other professional record or advice;
- the basis for decisions about a person’s employment, discipline, pay, or rights without a person checking the recording; or
- part of anything where a missing, late, or wrong recording or transcript could cause death, injury, or serious harm to people, property, or the environment.
We do not state that any recording or transcript is authentic, complete, accurate, unaltered, or admissible in any proceeding. Huddle Log can store audio in a compressed format, and audio you import is stored as a converted copy. You can rename people, edit titles and notes, and move lines between speakers; Huddle Log keeps no history of these changes. Transcribe Again makes a new transcript and keeps the previous one until you choose Switch Back or Keep New; Keep New deletes the previous one. Huddle Log adds no seal that shows whether a file was changed.
If you might need a recording or transcript as evidence, keep your own unchanged copy and ask a lawyer how to keep and present it. If you use Huddle Log in any of the ways listed above, you do so at your own risk, to the extent the law allows.
9. No warranty
Apart from what these terms say, any statement we make about Huddle Log in the App Store or in the app, and your rights under law (section 11), we make no other promises about Huddle Log.
IF YOU ARE IN THE UNITED STATES: TO THE FULLEST EXTENT YOUR STATE’S LAW ALLOWS, HUDDLE LOG IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITH ALL FAULTS, AND WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, ACCURACY, QUIET ENJOYMENT, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT HUDDLE LOG WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT IT WILL RECORD, KEEP, OR CORRECTLY TRANSCRIBE OR ATTRIBUTE ANY CONVERSATION. Some states do not allow implied warranties to be disclaimed for consumer purchases; if you live in one, those implied warranties apply only for the shortest period that law allows.
Everywhere else: to the extent the law where you live allows, we exclude all terms, conditions, and warranties that are not stated in these terms. This does not exclude any guarantee, condition, right, or remedy that the law where you live gives you and does not allow to be excluded.
Where the law gives you rights or warranties that cannot be excluded, we are responsible for them, not Apple. If Huddle Log does not conform to a warranty that applies, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price you paid for Huddle Log (including Lifetime or a Monthly payment), as Apple’s rules provide. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Huddle Log. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses caused by a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility, not Apple’s, to the extent the law allows.
10. Limits on our liability
(a) What we never limit. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; harm we cause intentionally, through gross negligence, or through willful misconduct; liability under product-liability law that cannot be limited; your rights as a consumer described in section 11; or any other liability that the law where you live does not allow us to limit or exclude.
(b) Losses we are not responsible for. Subject to (a), we are not responsible for:
- losses caused by relying on, quoting, sharing, or acting on a transcript, speaker label, or name without checking it against the recording as section 7 asks;
- losses caused by your recording, sharing, or use of other people’s words or voices;
- loss of recordings or transcripts that you could have avoided by keeping a backup, by keeping Huddle Log and your device’s software up to date, or by checking that a recording was running, except where the loss was caused by a fault in Huddle Log;
- losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as your device, its operating system, other apps, power, storage, or Apple’s services, but not how Huddle Log itself is designed or set up by default; and
- losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you agreed to these terms.
(c) Business use. Subject to (a), if you use Huddle Log for business, trade, or a profession, we are not responsible for any business losses, such as lost profits, revenue, contracts, clients, or opportunities.
(d) For users in the United States, also: TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AND SUBJECT TO (a), WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, GOODWILL, DATA, RECORDINGS, OR TRANSCRIPTS, HOWEVER CAUSED AND UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY (CONTRACT, TORT INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, STATUTE, OR OTHERWISE), EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE POSSIBLE. If you live in New Jersey, this paragraph applies to you only to the extent New Jersey law permits.
(e) Cap. Subject to (a), our total liability for all claims relating to Huddle Log or these terms is limited to the greater of (1) the total you paid for Huddle Log, meaning the price of Lifetime if you bought it plus any Monthly payments you made in the 12 months before the claim arose, and (2) US$50 (or the equivalent in your local currency). This cap does not apply to your rights as a consumer described in section 11, in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, India, or anywhere else whose law does not allow them to be capped.
These limits reflect a fair sharing of risk for an app sold at this price that runs on your device and never sends us your recordings or transcripts.
11. Your rights where you live
These terms do not reduce rights you have by law. In particular:
- United States: some states do not allow limits on implied warranties or on certain damages, and those limits then apply to you only as far as your state allows. If you live in New Jersey, sections 9, 10(b) to 10(e), and 12 apply to you only to the extent New Jersey law permits. Any right your state’s automatic-renewal law gives you for Monthly is not affected. If you live in California, you may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by telephone at (800) 952-5210.
- United Kingdom: you have the rights in the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including that digital content is of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described, and that we use reasonable care and skill not to damage your device or other digital content. If UK law on subscription contracts gives you further rights for Monthly, such as reminders, a cooling-off period, or an easy way to cancel, you keep them.
- Australia: Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies these rights.
- New Zealand: if you use Huddle Log for personal use, you have the rights in the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, and nothing in these terms limits them.
- Canada: you have the rights in your province’s or territory’s consumer protection law. If you live in Quebec, sections 9, 10(b) to 10(e), and 12 apply to you only as far as the Consumer Protection Act and the Civil Code of Québec allow, and the first paragraph of section 12 does not apply to you as a consumer.
- India: you have the rights in the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, including the right to file a complaint with a consumer commission where you live or work.
- European Union, European Economic Area, and Switzerland: if Huddle Log is offered where you live, you keep the rights the law there gives consumers, including the conformity of digital content and the updates the law requires, and our liability under product-liability law is not limited.
- Everywhere else: you keep any right the law where you live gives you that cannot be excluded by agreement.
Where any part of sections 6 to 10 or 12 to 16 conflicts with these rights, these rights win and the rest of those sections still applies.
12. Your responsibility to us
If someone else brings a claim against us because of what you did. To the extent the law allows, if another person, an employer, or a regulator brings a claim, demand, or proceeding against us, you will compensate us for the resulting losses, damages, fines, settlements, and reasonable costs, including reasonable legal fees, to the extent they were caused by your recording, transcribing, sharing, or other use of a conversation, recording, or transcript in breach of the law or of sections 3 or 4, including any failure to give a notice or get a consent or release the law requires.
If you use Huddle Log for business, trade, or a profession, this also covers claims to the extent they were caused by your breach of section 5, your use of Huddle Log in a way that breaks rules that apply to you or your organization, or your violation of anyone else’s rights.
This section does not apply to the extent a claim is caused by our own fault, and it does not cover claims between you and us. We will tell you promptly about any such claim and let you take part in the defense, and neither of us will settle a claim in a way that admits fault for, or imposes an obligation on, the other without the other’s written consent.
If you are a consumer in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Quebec, or India, the first paragraph of this section does not apply to you; you remain responsible under the law for your own actions. If you are a consumer anywhere else whose law does not allow this obligation, or limits it, it applies only as far as that law allows. If you use Huddle Log for a government body, this section applies only as far as the law governing that body allows.
13. Your recordings and transcripts
Recordings, transcripts, notes, speaker names, and exports you make with Huddle Log are yours, as between you and us. We claim no ownership of them and receive no license to them. Huddle Log stores them on your device and never sends them to us. We keep no copy and cannot recover them. Copies you export, share, or back up are under your control. Deleting a meeting, the app, or your device’s data can delete them permanently.
Other people may have rights in what they say in a recording, such as copyright or privacy rights. We do not promise that you have the rights you need to record, keep, share, or publish anything; that is up to you (section 3).
The speech models’ licenses place no restrictions on the transcripts and speaker labels they produce. If your license ends, the files you made stay yours.
Keeping and deleting. If you need to keep a meeting, for example because of a dispute, an investigation, a legal proceeding, or a rule that applies to you, you alone are responsible for keeping it: do not delete it, empty the Trash, or delete the app, and keep your own copy or a backup. On iPhone and iPad, a deleted meeting is erased from Huddle Log for good the next time Huddle Log starts, and deleting the app erases all of its meetings from the device. Copies in backups made earlier stay until those backups are replaced or deleted. If you must delete a recording, for example because the law or someone you recorded requires it, you are responsible for deleting it everywhere you keep it, including exports, shared copies, and backups.
14. Keeping your meetings safe
Huddle Log keeps your meetings in its own storage on your device and relies on your device’s protections, such as your passcode or password, FileVault on a Mac, and your backup settings. It has no passcode of its own and does not add its own encryption. Anyone who can use your unlocked device or your Mac user account, or who administers that Mac, may be able to open, play, search, copy, export, or delete your meetings.
Device search is on by default. Show meetings in Spotlight (Mac) and Show meetings in Search (iPhone and iPad) are on by default. While on, the full text of transcripts, plus meeting titles, people’s names, and notes, can be found in your device’s search by anyone using that device or Mac user account, without opening Huddle Log. A meeting stays in search until you delete it or turn the setting off. You can turn it off in Settings.
Meeting titles can also appear in notifications and, on iPhone and iPad, on the Lock Screen while you record. Backups of your device, and copies you export or share, are outside Huddle Log and are protected only by wherever you keep them. On a Mac, a meeting you move to the Trash stays there until you empty it.
You are responsible for who can use your devices and accounts, for these settings, and for keeping your devices and Huddle Log up to date. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for anyone seeing, copying, changing, or deleting your meetings through your device, your accounts, your backups, or copies you made, where that was within your control, unless our fraud, gross negligence, or willful misconduct caused it. This does not limit any liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
Security problems. A lost, stolen, or hacked device, or someone else using your device or accounts, is not a breach of data we hold, and we cannot detect it. If the law requires anyone to be told about such an event, for example because you recorded clients or patients for your work, giving that notice is your responsibility. If you find a security problem in Huddle Log, tell us through the contact form on our support page. When an update fixes a security problem, we will say so in its release notes or on our support page.
15. Requests from courts, police, and others
Because we never receive your recordings, transcripts, notes, or calendar data, we cannot give them to anyone, including a court, the police, a government agency, or someone in a dispute with you. We will say so to anyone who asks and direct them to the person who holds the device. We respond to legal requests only as the law requires.
We were not present at your conversations and did not make your recordings, so we cannot certify, authenticate, or give evidence about any particular recording or transcript. If you ask us for a certificate, statement, documents, or testimony for a matter you are involved in, we may decline unless the law requires us to provide it. If we agree, or the law requires it and allows us to charge, we may ask you to pay our reasonable costs.
16. Free version, Lifetime, and Monthly
Free version. Huddle Log is free to download and includes three free meetings, up to 30 minutes each. Recordings and imported audio files count together, and every imported file counts. A recording shorter than 30 seconds does not count. Deleting a meeting does not give a free meeting back. Meetings you record or import while Huddle Log is unlocked do not use free meetings. The count of free meetings used is kept on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your iCloud account, so it can stay the same if you reinstall Huddle Log or use it on another device with the same Apple Account. A free recording warns you at 25 minutes and is stopped and saved at 30 minutes. Only the first 30 minutes of a longer file imported while you use the free version are transcribed; after you unlock, Transcribe Again includes the rest. Copy and Export work in the free version. The free version has no trial period and never turns into a paid plan by itself.
The PDF credit line. PDFs made with Huddle Log can include a short credit line naming Huddle Log. In the free version it is always included. While Huddle Log is unlocked, it is on by default and you can turn it off in Settings.
Your meetings stay yours. Meetings you have made stay yours to read, play, copy, and export, whether or not you buy or subscribe, after a subscription ends, and also if Apple refunds a payment.
Two ways to unlock. You can unlock Huddle Log with Lifetime, a one-time in-app purchase, or with Monthly, an auto-renewable in-app subscription. Both unlock the same features. Apple sells and charges both under Apple’s terms, at the prices shown in Huddle Log and the App Store, in your local currency and including or adding taxes as Apple shows them. Prices can differ by country or region. Every payment for Huddle Log goes through Apple; we never charge you directly. What you get with either plan is a license to use the unlocked app under these terms (section 2), not ownership of the software.
Lifetime. Lifetime is a one-time purchase. It is not a subscription, and buying it does not start one or add any recurring charge.
What “Lifetime” means. “Lifetime” refers to the life of Huddle Log, not to your life or ours. Lifetime means the unlock has no end date and no further charge. It keeps Huddle Log unlocked, with no further payment to us, on every Mac, iPhone, and iPad that uses your Apple Account and can run Huddle Log, for as long as your license lasts under these terms (section 21). The unlock does not depend on any server of ours: Huddle Log checks it with Apple’s App Store on your device. Lifetime does not mean that we will keep updating or selling Huddle Log, or that it will work with future operating systems or devices, for any particular time (section 17).
What could still end Lifetime. Lifetime ends only if Apple refunds it or your license ends as section 21 says. If we stop selling or updating Huddle Log, a copy already installed and unlocked stays unlocked, but it may stop working properly with later operating system versions, and downloading it again or unlocking it on a new device depends on Apple (section 17).
Lifetime includes everything Monthly includes. Lifetime unlocks every feature that Monthly unlocks, now and in future versions. We will not make any feature of Huddle Log available only to subscribers.
Monthly. Monthly is an auto-renewable subscription at the monthly price shown in Huddle Log and the App Store when you subscribe. Your Apple Account is charged when you confirm the subscription and again at the start of each new month, until you cancel. Apple may charge a renewal up to 24 hours before the new month begins. You confirm the subscription in Apple’s purchase sheet, which shows the price and that it renews. The price may change after Apple notifies you (see Monthly price changes below). While your subscription is active, Huddle Log is unlocked on your devices, including any updates we release during that time (section 17). Monthly includes no free trial or introductory price.
Canceling Monthly. You can cancel Monthly at any time, with no cancellation fee:
- in Huddle Log: in Settings, under About, choose Manage Subscription, which is shown while you are subscribed (on the Mac, this opens your subscriptions in the App Store); or
- in your Apple Account’s subscription settings on any of your devices.
To avoid being charged for the next month, cancel at least 24 hours before the current month ends. After you cancel, Huddle Log stays unlocked until the end of the month you already paid for, and then returns to the free version (see When a subscription ends below). Deleting Huddle Log does not cancel a subscription. We cannot cancel a subscription for you, because Apple manages it. Canceling does not by itself refund the current month; refunds are covered in Refunds and your rights below.
Renewal and price-change notices. Huddle Log has no account and no email, so we do not send our own notices. We rely on Apple, which sends subscription confirmations, renewal receipts, and notices of price changes to the contact details of your Apple Account. Your Apple Account’s subscription settings show your current price and renewal date.
When a subscription ends. If you cancel, a payment cannot be collected by the end of the billing grace period (see Payment problems below), or Apple refunds the subscription, Huddle Log returns to the free version:
- Your meetings stay yours. Every meeting you made stays on your device to read, play, copy, and export.
- Meetings made while unlocked keep their full transcripts. A meeting you recorded or imported while Huddle Log was unlocked is transcribed in full, even if it is transcribed, or transcribed again, after the subscription ends. This also applies to an imported meeting you delete and then bring back with Undo. A deleted meeting you bring back any other way, for example with Put Back from the Mac’s Trash, is treated as a new import for this purpose.
- New meetings follow the free version’s rules. Any free meetings you had not used are still available. New recordings stop at 30 minutes, only the first 30 minutes of a newly imported file are transcribed, and the PDF credit line is always included.
You can subscribe again or buy Lifetime at any time.
Switching to Lifetime. If you buy Lifetime while subscribed, Huddle Log stays unlocked by Lifetime, but buying Lifetime does not cancel your monthly subscription. To stop being charged for Monthly, cancel it as described in Canceling Monthly above. Apple decides whether any part of a month already paid for is refunded.
Prices. We set the prices, and Apple shows them in your local currency. We may change the price of Lifetime or Monthly for new purchases at any time. A price change never changes what you already paid, and it does not by itself entitle anyone to an extra charge or a refund of the difference, except where the law where you live says otherwise. We do not promise how long any price will last.
Monthly price changes. If we raise the monthly price, Apple tells you before the new price applies and, where Apple’s rules or the law require, asks for your consent. If Apple asks for your consent and you do not give it, your subscription ends at the end of the month you already paid for. You can also cancel at any time (see Canceling Monthly above).
Early-adopter price. When Huddle Log shows “Early-adopter price”, it means Lifetime is offered to early buyers at this price, which may change at any time. It is not tied to a date or a number of buyers that Huddle Log shows, and it may end at any time.
Payment problems. If Apple cannot charge your payment method when Monthly renews, Apple keeps trying for a period it sets. During any billing grace period Apple gives (we have set it to 16 days from the renewal date), Huddle Log stays unlocked. If the payment is still not collected when the grace period ends, the subscription ends (see When a subscription ends above). You can fix your payment method in your Apple Account settings.
Your devices. Lifetime or Monthly unlocks Huddle Log on the Macs, iPhones, and iPads that use the same Apple Account and meet Huddle Log’s requirements shown in the App Store. Use Restore Purchases to unlock another device. Family Sharing does not apply to Lifetime or Monthly.
Checking with the App Store. Huddle Log confirms a subscription with Apple’s App Store on your device. If your device cannot reach the App Store when a paid month ends, Huddle Log may show the free version until it can confirm the renewal. Nothing you made is affected.
What is unlocked. While Huddle Log is unlocked, it sets no limit on the number or length of meetings. Your device still limits what you can record: recording length is limited by your device’s free storage, and a recording also stops and is saved in the cases described in section 6, including after 5 minutes with no sound unless you change Stop after silence.
Refunds and your rights. If Huddle Log is faulty or not as described, the law where you live may give you a repair, replacement, price reduction, or refund, and you can contact us as well as Apple. Refunds of App Store payments, for Lifetime or for Monthly, are made by Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com, including any right to cancel you have under the law where you live; we cannot reverse an App Store charge ourselves. If Apple declines and the law entitles you to a refund from us, contact us through the contact form on our support page. If Apple refunds Lifetime, the Lifetime unlock ends once your device receives the refund from the App Store, unless you also have an active Monthly subscription. If Apple refunds Monthly, the subscription ends once your device receives the refund (see When a subscription ends above). Meetings you have already made stay readable and exportable.
If we stop offering a plan. We may stop offering Monthly to new subscribers. If we stop offering Monthly altogether, we will not renew active subscriptions after that, and each stays unlocked until the end of the month already paid for. Lifetime stays available to buy for as long as we sell Huddle Log. Stopping a plan never affects a Lifetime purchase already made.
17. Updates
Updates we release are free to download from the App Store. With Lifetime, every update and every future version of Huddle Log that we release, including major new versions, is included at no extra charge. Once you have bought Lifetime, we will not ask you to pay again for Huddle Log. With Monthly, every update we release while your subscription is active is included in the subscription price; when the subscription ends, so does the unlock (section 16).
We do not promise that any particular update, feature, or improvement will be released, or when, and we may stop releasing updates. New versions may require a newer operating system or device, and older ones may stop being supported. Updates can change how Huddle Log works; back up anything important before you update. We fix problems we learn about in updates, not in older versions. If Huddle Log is no longer offered in the App Store, a copy already installed is not removed, but it may stop working properly with later operating system versions, and downloading it again depends on Apple.
This section does not reduce any duty the law places on us to provide updates, including security updates, for as long as the law requires.
18. Third-party components and terms
Huddle Log includes open-source software and speech models made by others. They are listed, with their licenses, in the Acknowledgments in Huddle Log’s Settings. Those licenses govern those components and take precedence over these terms for them; nothing in these terms limits any right those licenses give you.
Their authors, including NVIDIA, pyannote, WeSpeaker, Brno University of Technology, and Fluid Inference, are not parties to these terms, have not endorsed Huddle Log, and give you no promises about it.
We may update, replace, or remove any third-party component in an update, for example if its license changes or ends. If that makes Huddle Log materially worse, your rights under the law where you live are not affected.
When you use Huddle Log, you must also follow any third-party terms that apply to you, such as the terms of a call or meeting service you record from, your network or device provider, or your organization’s rules.
19. Names and suggestions
Names. “Huddle Log” and the Huddle Log icon are names we use for our app. These terms do not give you any right to use them, except to refer to Huddle Log accurately. Apple, Mac, iPhone, iPad, and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc. Other names mentioned in Huddle Log or the Acknowledgments belong to their owners and are used only to identify their work; their use does not mean they endorse Huddle Log.
Suggestions. If you send us a suggestion or idea about Huddle Log, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use the idea for any purpose, including to improve Huddle Log, without paying or crediting you. We are not obliged to use it or keep it confidential. This license covers only the idea. It does not cover any recording, transcript, audio, or other people’s words or personal information, even if you send them, or your own personal information; we use those only to reply to you and to keep a record of the conversation (see the Privacy Policy). Do not send recordings, transcripts, or other people’s personal information through the contact form.
20. Apple
- These terms are between you and us only, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for Huddle Log and its content.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for maintenance and support of Huddle Log, as described in these terms or required by law. Apple has no obligation at all to provide maintenance or support for Huddle Log.
- Warranties: see section 9. Apple’s only warranty role is to refund the purchase price as described there.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or anyone else relating to Huddle Log or your possession or use of it, including (a) product liability claims; (b) any claim that Huddle Log fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement; and (c) claims under consumer protection, privacy, or similar laws.
- If anyone claims that Huddle Log, or your possession and use of it, infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and discharging that claim. To tell us about such a claim, use the contact form on our support page and include your name and contact details, the work or right you say is infringed, what in Huddle Log you believe infringes it, and a statement that the information is accurate and that you own the right or are authorized to act for its owner.
- You confirm that (a) you are not located in a country or region subject to a US Government embargo or designated by the US Government as “terrorist supporting”, and (b) you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept these terms, Apple has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
21. Changes to these terms and ending
Changes. We may change these terms for valid reasons, such as changes in the law, in Apple’s rules, in Huddle Log’s features, or in third-party licenses. When we change them, Huddle Log shows you the new version and asks you to agree before you can start a new recording. Until you agree, you can still open, read, play, copy, and export your meetings on your Mac, iPhone, and iPad. A change applies to you only once you agree to it. If you do not agree, you may stop using Huddle Log; declining does not delete anything. If you have Monthly and do not agree to a change, cancel your subscription in your Apple Account’s subscription settings so you are not charged again. If a change is to your disadvantage and the law where you live lets you end the agreement or get money back because of it, that right is not affected. A change never applies to a dispute that arose before you agreed to it. A change will never add a charge for anything you already paid for, reduce what Lifetime gives you, take away the updates promised in section 17, or reduce what Monthly gives you during a period you have already paid for.
Ending. You may stop using Huddle Log at any time. We may end your license only if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms (for example by using Huddle Log to record people unlawfully) or where the law requires it, and we will tell you why where the law requires. When your license ends, you must stop using Huddle Log; the files you made stay yours (section 13). If you have Monthly, cancel it in your Apple Account’s subscription settings; we cannot cancel it for you, and you may ask Apple for a refund of any period you could not use.
What continues. Sections 1 (as to a parent’s or guardian’s responsibility), 3, 5 to 15, and 18 to 24 continue after this agreement ends, along with any other part that by its nature should continue.
22. Disputes, governing law, and courts
(a) Talk to us first. If you have a problem with Huddle Log, contact us through the contact form on our support page so we can try to resolve it. This does not stop you from going to a court, consumer body, or regulator.
(b) Governing law. The Standard EULA states the law that governs the license it grants. These terms, and any matter between you and us that the Standard EULA does not govern, are governed by the laws of India, where we live and work. If you live in the United States, they are instead governed by the laws of the state where you live, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
(c) Courts. The courts at Nellore, India, have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes between you and us. “Non-exclusive” means you are not required to bring a claim there.
(d) Your home law and courts. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country, state, or province where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts or consumer bodies. In India this includes a consumer commission where you live or work.
(e) No arbitration requirement and no shortened time limit. These terms do not require arbitration and do not shorten the time the law gives you to bring a claim.
23. General
Entire agreement and order of precedence. These terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Standard EULA are the entire agreement between you and us about Huddle Log and replace any earlier ones. If these terms conflict with the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA governs, except where these terms give you more rights or protection, including a higher limit on our liability (section 10) and your rights where you live (section 11); there, these terms apply. Nothing in this paragraph limits any statement we make about Huddle Log in the App Store or in the app.
Our descriptions of Huddle Log. If we learn that a description of Huddle Log in the App Store or in the app has become inaccurate, we will correct it within a reasonable time after we learn of it.
Severability. If any part of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, only that part is affected, to the smallest extent needed, and the rest stays in force.
No waiver. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
Transfer. You may not transfer this agreement. We may transfer it to a person or business that takes over Huddle Log, as long as your rights are not reduced.
Government users. If you are, or use Huddle Log for, a government body, any part of these terms that the law governing that body does not allow it to accept (for example an indemnity, or a choice of law or court) does not apply to that body to the extent of that prohibition, and the rest of these terms still applies. The Standard EULA explains the rights granted to US Government end users.
Language. These terms are written in English. If they are translated, the English version controls, except where the law where you live requires otherwise.
24. Contact and complaints
Questions, complaints, or claims about Huddle Log go to Indira Pasupuleti, Nellore, India, through the contact form linked from Support on Huddle Log’s App Store page.
Grievance Officer (India): Indira Pasupuleti, Owner and Grievance Officer, reachable through the same form. We acknowledge each complaint within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within one month. This does not affect your right to go to a consumer commission, court, or regulator.
